The Idyl Fenway

Remember me?

It’s been a minute but I’m stoked to be back with another “Inside Look” featuring The Idyl in Fenway.

Located in *my* neighborhood (Fenway) across the street from one of *my* (not closed) favorite venues//bars named “Church”, the Idyl Fenway is a welcomed property amongst the other “new construction” in the ‘hood.

Right out of the gates, The Idyl grabbed me by the collar and ripped me in. How?

Free iced coffee with all the fixin’s in the lobby.

IN THE LOBBY.

Say less.

However, as a good agent and, well, to give you the info you came for, let me continue to tell you about the building and give you a full “Inside Look” and not just an “Inside the Lobby”.

The concierge eagerly greeted us and took us around the corner of the super stylish lobby to the leasing bullpen. We met with Olivia who was super sweet and knew the joint inside and out. She was impressive- notably different than many of the “I just started here” types we routinely find when we tour buildings like these.

On the lobby level, there’s a huge package room (with cold storage as well), the Pedigree Pet Spa with direct access to the outside which is a great feature.

Buried in the back of the building is a large gym with spin studio and barre//yoga room. The fitness center offers pretty much something for everyone and is also outfitted with small lockers.

There are two more levels of amenity space at The Idyl. The next we visited was on the 7th floor where you’ll find the Parlor on the Fens a large open lounge next to a glass enclosed demonstration kitchen (the Chef’s Table) with a large 10 person table and a kitchen to channel your inner Emeril (remember him?). Adjacent to these areas is a large outdoor space- one of two common outdoor “roofy” type spaces at the Idyl. This one offers a couple of grilling stations, a few larger dining tables and a some lounging space. Nothing crazy but enough for a couple of medium sized groups to be there at the same time and not bother one another.

The top floor is where we find the Emerald Terrace. This is the BIG ‘OL roofdeck at The Idyl. Along with the xtra large roofdeck is the roof lounge offering a comfy vibe (think large, plush sofa looking at a big ass flat screen tv- just BYOPJ’s), large table and a billards table as well. The roofdeck has TONS of space and is laid out really well to section off spaces for groups for lounging, eating, watching the game or sun-worshipping. All with a sick view of the Boston city skyline.

Before we get to the units, there’s one more communal space called Thinkspace. This co-working space offers the residents some P&Q and an upgrade from their WFH space (aka their couch). They also get access to high speed WiFi and a printer.

Okay okay, if that’s not enough to get you in the door, let me tell you about the units at The Idyl.

We visited a studio and a two bedroom layout. The studio offered a pullman style kitchen along the back wall with hidden fridge and dishwasher and a great layout//sizable room more than adequate to accommodate a sitting area and Twin XL bed. The bathroom was big and accommodating with a large shower and single vanity. The flooring throughout the living space was a “greyghy” hardwood like vinyl flooring that actually looked like hardwood which is nice. Not overtly modern- this unit felt much more homey than many of the “modern” units traditionally feel.

The two bed//two bath was also great sized and had nice little turns and nooks for things like hooks and shoe storage in the front hallway and book shelf//workstations on the side walls. The kitchen had quite a large kitchen island with a hideaway dishwasher open to the living area. The primary bedroom and second bedroom were large enough to accommodate king sized beds which is lovely. I’ve come to conclude I need a king sized bed in my life. I legitimately look forward to staying at hotels because of them. I have some means, I should just get one already and quit pining for it.

Studios rent starting in the low $3k’s and 1 bed units will run you around the $4k/mo. mark. 2 beds range pretty wildly but you can find them in the $5,200/mo. Range and if you wanna be a baller, a shackaller even, you can rent one of their PH 2 beds around $9k/mo. As we write, The Idyl is offering 1 month free rent on select units.

If you’re interested in The Idyl or any other Fenway apartment building, email us and we’ll show you around!
