Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month! This month is all about celebrating women’s contributions to history, culture, and society.

Kingston wants to raise awareness about the importance of Women’s History Month by featuring local women-owned businesses in Brookline that go above and beyond!

We’ll begin with Art with Amy, located at 45 Harvard Street. From 2:30-6:00 PM, the studio offers the perfect after-school program, as well as pick-up from Pierce and FRR schools. The “Art Box Project” service offers materials so you can make a professional-looking piece, from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you feel most creative. It’s a great way to express yourself artistically during the pandemic! Learn more about Art with Amy HERE.

Curds & Co. aims to be the most welcoming cheese shop in town. Online ordering is available for a wide variety of products, including beer, charcuterie, cheese, crackers, and more. Curds & Co. has created a subscription box that includes cheese, paired foods, wine pairings, and a themed Spotify playlist. Additionally, they offer CurdboxFLEX, which has gluten-free, nut-free, and vegetarian options.

Also, they offer a cheese school. You can attend the class of your choice, and participate in the lesson on a particular cheese. Every year, the owners of Curds & Co. visit Italy to learn more about their products’ origin. Join them on their trip! You’ll get an extensive lesson on native Italian cheeses (and how they’re made). To join them, visit here.

Fine Creations Jewelry is open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm every day. The story of this women-owned business begins with Madeline. Born and raised in Brookline, MA, Madeline has always been drawn to metalwork, stating it is “in her DNA.” She comes from a long line of metal workers, and her influences led her to attend MassArt where she further developed her skills.

She has now developed Fine Creations Jewelry, where she creates sustainable handmade jewelry. All of Madeline’s pieces draw inspiration from nature. The Cyprus Street jewelry shop offers online shopping for those who don’t have time to visit. Browse Fine Creations Jewelry’s exclusive collection through their online store.

KREM is thankful for the women in our local community, as well as the opportunity to have such amazing women on our team. We hope you will take the time to get to know these awesome businesses we have featured.
