Let’s talk about Brookline history for a moment. We at Kingston REM are suckers for that sort of thing. With all the new construction going up (quickly) it’s easy to forget the classic elegance that Brookline offers. Arguably, the crown jewel of Brookline’s quintessential beauty is the event venue, Alden Castle. Depending on how long you’ve been in Brookline, you may know it better as the space formerly known as “Veronique”, located in the residential building Longwood Towers.
Located at 20 Chapel St. in Brookline, the venue once served as a meeting space for the who’s who of the Brookline/Boston area where you could get an incredible dinner and hobnob with the wealthy and well-to-do.
The space now, divided into two event spaces, still exudes that classic rich history and aura making it’s patron’s feel like they’re living on a page of The Great Gatsby.
The Vintage Ballroom offers Tudor-feel architecture (think dark wood beams) complemented by stained glass inlaid picture windows, gorgeous chandeliers and expansive windows allowing an overabundance of natural lighting. Meanwhile, the Modern Club gives its guest a more intimate feel with smaller details featuring royal crests and mahogany paneling along with the original, restored gold leafed fleur-de-lis ceiling.
The space is now run and managed by Longwood Venues who continue to carry the timeless elegance and essence through to all their events. You can host everything from wedding receptions to business meetings here all catered from the extremely talented Chef David Blessing. Focusing on local, seasonal ingredients, your food- anything from passed apps to a four course meal- will be nothing short of excellence.
BTW, it’s NEVER too early to book your company’s holiday party.
Drop a message to @longwoodvenues and they’ll be happy to discuss all the details with you! Give them a follow while you’re there!
