This installment of Inside Look is taking us outside Downtown Boston proper and into an area where we’ve seen some VERY rapid development in the past 3 years-Jamaica Plain.
Specifically, the Forest Hills T station area and it’s few square blocks have been undergoing a serious redevelopment for the past couple of years including re-routing of traffic and all new roads leading to and from the Arborway. Resting on the edge of here and ready for you to take advantage of all those conveniences is the MetroMark building located at 3611 Washington St., Jamaica Plain.
MetroMark’s 283 units are spread across 2 different buildings (built in two phases between ‘16 & ‘17) over six floors. Offering floor plans from studios to 3 bedroom apartments, these unit offer the modern touches and finishes we’re accustomed to in the new construction offerings. However, you will find some unique unit features and details here including soft close on their sturdy, wood cabinets, exhaust hoods which actually vent and ice makers in your fridge. Those are all those little things that you wouldn’t think about UNTIL you didn’t have them. Select units also offer private patio areas which overlook the common areas which takes you out of the city for a min and sits you down into your own little community. A nice escape from your busy living at the end of your day.
AMENITIES. We all want to know about the amenities.
Well, the amenities offered at MetroMark are pretty spectacular. The fitness room is ample and offers nice views along with a private attached yoga/barre studio. Their community and game room offer a nice space to congregate and socialize (and a poker table, FYI). They also have a pair of courtyards for some summer RnR and one also features a fenced in dog park! Grilling stations and fire pits can be enjoyed here as well.
But their crown jewel is their *ENORMOUS* roof deck. This thing is BIG and offers some awesome views as well. We’re talking enough space for several small groups to chill and everyone isn’t in each others business. It’s a really nice space and can also be reserved for private events! There are a couple of (electric) grilling stations along with several loungers and some TV’s to be enjoyed up here as well. Have we mentioned that it’s awesome up here?
The management also does a great job with resident events. Last month, residents had the chance to paint a summer scene with a paint party company and past events include having an ice-cream social with local (and Kingston REM) favorite JP Licks, and free training sessions for your dogs.
MetroMark is v pet friendly and they know how to spoil your pets as well!
As previously touted, the MetroMark is located a block from the Forest Hills T stop on the Orange Line making your commute into the City REALLY quick. Also located very close to major routes in and out, you can get to where you need to go from the MetroMark pretty darn easily. We’re talking 18 mins to Downtown and 9 mins to Longwood via the T. You can’t get there that quickly from many parts of the Green Line- certainly not the B line.
Pricing looks reasonable and there are several floor plans to choose from. Studios start at under $2k and you can find 1br’s with or without dens (w/o den at $2550 and w/den start at around $2800) and likewise for the 2br’s (w/o den start at $2850 and w/den start at just over $3k). Three beds offer 2.5 baths and run you in the high $4k’s. They also offer what they deem a DELUXE unit which will get you a gas stove and designer hood. Parking is available in the garage for an additional charge.
